French Language Basics
Course Description
French language basics provide a strong foundation for learning and communicating in one of the world’s most widely spoken languages. Beginners start with essential greetings such as Bonjour (Hello), Merci (Thank you), and Au revoir (Goodbye). Understanding basic sentence structures, common verbs like être (to be) and avoir (to have), and key vocabulary helps learners form simple sentences.
Pronunciation is crucial in French, as many words have silent letters and nasal sounds. Learning how to correctly pronounce words and use accents like é, è, and ô improves fluency. Basic grammar rules, such as gendered nouns and adjective agreement, also play a key role in forming correct sentences.
Numbers, days of the week, and common expressions are essential for everyday conversations. For example, knowing how to ask questions with Comment ça va ? (How are you?) or express needs with J’ai besoin de… (I need…) is useful.
Practicing listening, speaking, reading, and writing in French regularly helps reinforce these basics. Whether for travel, work, or personal enrichment, mastering French fundamentals opens doors to deeper cultural experiences and more effective communication with native speakers.
